Baseball

If you’re American, chances are you have memories of baseball. Baseball engages and enrages us, with its old-fashioned uniforms, logos and controversial calls by umpires. You’ve all scanned the MLB schedule and bought baseball tickets to great MLB match-ups, because you can’t resist the draw of America’s Game.

From the days when Babe “the Bambino” Ruth broke all slugging percentage records – still standing to this day – to the modern era of Dice-K, the Japanese Red Sox pitcher who is so committed to honing his skill he spent an awards ceremony practicing in the bullpen and had his World Series medal dropped in his locker!

Baseball tickets fetch huge prices for the big games because everyone can relate to playing the game as kids. All you really need is a “bat” (any stick will do), some coats or other objects for bases and you’re in business. Europeans, Africans and Asians always think of baseball when they think of American sports. There is a romantic image of the American life abroad, involving kids whacking a ball about the street, using fire hydrants for bases, speaking in broad Brooklyn accents and wearing old-style baseball caps. It is a deserving association, for baseball is a romantic game and it certainly breaks hearts!

The baseball schedule is always the first thing I check when I buy baseball tickets. I want to know when my team will play our biggest baseball rivals. MLB baseball is the sport I grew up with, more so than football or basketball and that is why I made this website.
